The Florence Nightingale Institute is the continuing education arm of the Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society and is currently headed by Jovelyn Alaba, RN. Ms. Alaba is backed by active members: Karen Nacis, RN and Joan Braga, RN.
The goals of this 8 contact hour workshop were to provide the Occupational First Aider with the necessary skills to administer effective first aid in the workplace, to deal with emergencies, to assess and treat injuries and to maintain care and comfort of the casualty until medical treatment can be provided.
The resource person is Ms. Ethel Villodres, RN, EMT. Ms. Villodres is an acknowledged local expert on first aid. She has training exposure on first aid both in the national and international levels.
This workshop was highly participative and interactive course where theory was followed by demonstration of skills and practical application by participants.
