General Santos City - As part of her expanding and final role as the Dr. Rose Constantino Visiting Nurse Scholar, Dr. Linell G. Malimbag visited yesterday the Graduate School of Notre Dame of Dadiangas University shortly after giving a lecture to the combined audience of professional nurses and senior nursing students at the AVR of the said university.
Earlier speaking on the "Nursing Leadership in the 21st Century" as part of the 5th Joseph Eribaren Memorial Nursing Lecture regularly held by the Philippine Nursing Student Association and the NDDU Nursing Alumni group, Dr. Malimbag emphasized that the nursing leaders in recent times thought about "doing the right things" however, this paradigm has shifted when she quoted renowned nursing consultant Dr. Tim Porter O'Grady that nurse leaders today "must do things right and differently".
All throught out her more than one hour lecture, she shared new paradigms in leadership and ended up with a challenge to the audience that they "must work doubly hard and be ready to adopt to new changes".
She also stressed the need to become emotionally intelligent people who must imbibed with the following dimensions of self-awareness, self management, relationship management.
