With the
unprecedented global challenges posed today, research has brought a linear
evolution to nursing paradigms and knowledge development in practice. It is the
responsibility of the nursing profession to create a positive environment by
integrating research concepts of ethical worth and translate it into nursing
practice.

It is really an
overwhelming experience to share my humblest knowledge and passion in nursing
science to Indonesian nurses, nursing educators and nursing students of
Diponegoro University School of Nursing- Faculty of Medicine and Kariadi Hospital
on their Adult Health Scientific Meeting last August 15, 2014 in Semarang,
Indonesia. Diponegoro University is an institutional homage continuously
providing quality education to the people. The vitality and worth are
exemplified by the nurses who are committed in upholding the dignity of the
profession through the integration of evidenced-based practice.
The said seminar not
just upholded nursing empowerment but more on exemplary leadership and
competence anchored with enhanced personality and moral values. Exemplifying
the nurses through commitment and compassion in the delivery of quality care
through utilization of research and strengthening nurses’ image for their
professional and personal growth through Good clinical practice highlighted my
talk on Nursing Empowerment. As nurses enter into the practice of nursing, we
recognize the importance of using our education and evidence based knowledge to
guide our actions within the clinical setting.
As nurses pursue to
achieve a soul in accordance with virtue, they should be more incline to
provide quality nursing care and be an advocate for what is true and what is
just, and more importantly, offer oneself to a more caring world. Through
research development, it creates an involvement of both objective and
subjective reality and/or experiences as nursing science, thus forming a knowledge connector, where nurses brings together
scientific and philosophical knowledge for personal and professional growth. Thus,
it is the responsibility of the nursing profession to create a positive
environment by integrating research concepts of moral virtue and translate it
in the nursing practice.
