Professor Martinez is the new chair of the PNA Department of Nursing Research

Prof. Rudolf Cymorr Kirby Martinez, Ph.D., a well-respected professor of nursology and caring science from San Beda University, has recently been appointed as the chairperson of the Department of Nursing Research of the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA). This prestigious appointment recognizes his expertise in nursing research and his commitment to advancing the nursing profession and discipline through innovative research initiatives. 

Prof. Martinez has been a nurse educator for over 5 years at San Beda University, during which time he has advocated for the improvement of nursing research via conducting and publishing research that responds to the contemporary needs of society and improvement of the discipline. He also serves as the founding editor-in-chief of the official health science journal of the University and the founding chairperson of the University Research Ethics Board. 




He has also served as a mentor to many graduate students, helping them develop the skills and knowledge necessary to conduct high-quality research. As the chairperson of the research department, Dr. Martinez will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of research initiatives that align with the PNA's strategic priorities. This includes identifying research priorities, promoting collaboration among researchers, and providing guidance on research design and methodology.

Dr. Martinez is excited about the opportunity to lead the research committee and contribute to the advancement of nursing research. He believes that nursing research is essential for improving patient outcomes, enhancing the quality of care, and advancing the nursing profession and discipline. He is committed to promoting a culture of inquiry and encouraging nurses to engage in research activities that can improve the delivery of care.
