5th National Nursing Research Webinar Wraps Up with Inspiring Insights and Acknowledgments

The recently concluded 5th National Nursing Research Webinar (held on 25 November 2023) marked another pivotal moment in the Philippine nursing community, bringing together professionals, researchers, and students for a day of enlightening discussions and presentations. Keynoted by the esteemed Prof. Rudolf Martinez, the event, hosted virtually, aimed to further the frontiers of nursing research in the Philippines.

Prof. Martinez, a distinguished figure in the field and currently a full professor at San Beda University, an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Caring and Health Sciences, and the Director for Research of the Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society, set the stage with an insightful keynote address. His wealth of experience and leadership in nursing research provided an overview of the current landscape.

In collaboration with esteemed partners such as the Association of the Nursing Services Administrators of the Philippines Region 8, St. Anthony's College-Antique, and the Journal of Caring and Health Sciences, the webinar achieved its dual objectives. Firstly, it served as a platform for researchers to disseminate findings and engage in meaningful discussions. Secondly, it fostered networking and collaboration among professionals in the nursing research community.

Distinguished presenters, Shiela Coyoca, RN, PhD, and Mohammed Bien Kulintang, RN, PhD, LPT, shared their expertise in their respective topics. Dr. Coyoca delved into "Total Self for God and Others: A Theory of Meaning of Self-Care for Nursing," exploring the intricate connection between self-care and the care provided to others. Dr. Kulintang presented "Caring for in the End-of-Life Stages: Compassionate Transitory Integration Theory," shedding light on compassionate care practices in end-of-life stages.

The event also took a moment to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Ric Artemio Gadin, the Program Manager for the last three editions (from 2020 to 2023). Dr. Gadin's dedication and leadership have been instrumental in making the National Nursing Research Webinar a success, contributing significantly to the advancement of nursing research in the Philippines. The community extends its deepest thanks for his tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to excellence.
