Elevating Nursing Education Through Innovation

The spotlight shone on excellence and innovation during the Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. (PNA) 103rd Foundation Anniversary and 68th Nurses’ Week Celebration & National Annual Convention 2025, held at the SMX Convention Center, Davao City, where Dr. Jofred M. Martinez, PhD, MAN, RN, was awarded 2nd Place in the Research Poster Presentation Competition.

His winning entry, titled “Effectiveness of Simulation Training in Improving the Competence, Confidence, and Satisfaction of Nursing Faculty,” represents not only a scholarly contribution but also a transformative vision for the future of nursing education in the Philippines.

At a time when healthcare systems worldwide demand adaptive and competent educators, Dr. Martinez’s study offers timely insight into how simulation-based training can bridge the gap between theory and practice—particularly for nursing faculty who play a critical role in shaping future generations of nurses.

The PNA Research Poster Competition continues to serve as a platform for Filipino nurse scholars to showcase their studies and contribute to the growing body of evidence-based practice. By recognizing research like Dr. Martinez’s, the organization reinforces its commitment to advancing nursing knowledge and encouraging nurse researchers to push boundaries in pursuit of excellence.
