The Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing (ADPCN) Region XII marked an important milestone in its organizational journey with the successful conduct of its Strategic Planning Session, Induction of Newly Elected Officers, and Recognition of the Outgoing President on December 12, 2025, at Cinco NiƱas, Koronadal City. Beginning at 9:00 AM, the gathering brought together Deans of Nursing Schools from across Region XII in a shared commitment to strengthen leadership, unity, and direction for nursing education in the region.
The event served as both a moment of transition and renewal. It formally opened with the Induction of Newly Elected Officers, symbolizing continuity in leadership and a renewed sense of purpose for ADPCN Region XII. During the induction ceremony, Dr. Elmer G. Organia was formally installed as the new President of ADPCN Region XII. In his Acceptance Message, Dr. Organia underscored his commitment to effective and inclusive leadership, collaborative efforts among member institutions, and the continued strengthening of unity across nursing schools in the region. His message resonated with the collective aspiration to move forward together in addressing the evolving demands of nursing education.
Equally significant was the Recognition of the Outgoing President, Dr. Grace Joy Gerada-Nietes, whose term was marked by dedication, collaboration, and steadfast service to the association. In a heartfelt message, Dr. Gerada-Nietes expressed her deep gratitude to the Deans of Nursing for their unwavering support, cooperation, and shared commitment throughout her leadership. Her recognition was a moment of reflection on the accomplishments achieved under her guidance and the strong foundation she leaves for the next chapter of ADPCN Region XII.
Following the induction and recognition ceremonies, participants engaged in the Strategic Planning Session, the core component of the gathering. The session provided a structured space for open dialogue, reflection, and forward planning. Key issues, pressing concerns, and priority directions were discussed, with a focus on aligning organizational goals with the broader mission of advancing the quality of nursing education in Region XII. Through collaborative discussion, the Deans reaffirmed their shared responsibility to respond proactively to challenges in nursing education, workforce preparation, and academic leadership.
The successful conduct of this event highlighted ADPCN Region XII’s strong culture of collegiality and shared leadership. More than a formal gathering, it was a reaffirmation of the association’s role as a collective voice and guiding force for nursing education in the region. As ADPCN Region XII moves forward under new leadership, the outcomes of the strategic planning session provide a clear roadmap for sustained collaboration, innovation, and excellence in shaping the future of nursing education.
