4th MINS A Rousing Success

The 4th Mindanao International Nursing Seminar (MINS) held last Friday, 10th of December, began with humble plans for a small but informative event. The virtual seminar, which provided a slate of keynote speech (Dr Claudia Lai of the Hongkong Polytechnic University), closing speech (Dr Rose Constantino of the University of Pittsburgh) and 3 plenary speeches from Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei Darrusalam, received an extremely positive response from attendees.

‘The participation, and inspiration have been overwhelming,’ according to Dr Elmer Organia, MINS convenor and dean of the Notre Dame of Tacurong College along with co-convenor, Mr. Dennis Amando and Dr. Richard Soliven.

With such success at the latest seminar, Dr Organia and Mr. Amando are already making plans for a follow-up.

‘Our next event is scheduled for December 2022 and we’re going to start the planning for that within the first quarter next year,’ Dr. Organia said. ‘We have quite a number of pieces of feedback to collate so we’ll be working through that to make next year’s seminar even better.

‘We’ll also be looking to roll out other related events -- research and extension -- between now and then,’ according to Mr. Amando.
