Launching of the Rozzano Locsin Institute

The Rozzano Locsin Institute for the Advancement of Technological Competency as Caring in Nursing and Health Sciences was launched today during the culmination of the 4th International Conference on Technological Competency as Caring in Nursing and Health Sciences 2022 organized by Tokushima University in collaboration with various universities and nursing organizations.

The Institute’s name comes from the prominent Filipino nurse theorist, Rozzano Locsin. Rozzano is a professor emeritus at both Florida Atlantic University and Tokushima University.

The Institute envisions becoming the international leader in advancing and promoting theory-based practice grounded in the theory of technological competency as caring in nursing.

Professor Tetsuya Tanioka, RN, PhD, FAAN will serve as the inaugural director of the Institute.

The Beta Nu Delta Nursing Society extends its felicitations to its one of its prominent members: “The launch of the Rozzano Locsin Institute is an important milestone building on the core group's strengths in technological competency as caring in nursing theory. The launch is also a call to action for champions  – researchers, students, and collaborators – to conduct research for nurses with important guidelines for preventing technological dependence on technology, and placing the patient at the center of care.
