In March 2023, Gil Platon Soriano embarked on a new career chapter by being appointed a full-time faculty member at the National University (NU), Philippines. This opportunity was a blessing for Gil, who had just returned from Japan after completing his PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Tokushima. His appointment at NU has allowed him to apply the extensive knowledge and skills he acquired during his doctoral studies.
Recognized for his contributions as a researcher, Gil was also appointed as the Research Management and Ethics Coordinator at NU. He established the university's Research Ethics Committee in this role, addressing the increasing necessity for ethical research practices. His leadership in this area ensures that NU's research activities adhere to the highest ethical standards, fostering a culture of integrity and responsibility in academic research.
Gil's educational journey is impressive and diverse. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasay in 2010, followed by a Master of Health Professions Education from the University of the Philippines Manila in 2015. His pursuit of knowledge continued in Japan, where he completed his PhD in Health Sciences in March 2024. Gil is finishing his second doctoral degree, a PhD in Nursing from Silliman University, demonstrating his relentless commitment to advancing his expertise in the field.
